Has anyone looked into the Bayou Store's security footage (if any existed back then) around the time John Michael Baham Jr. was there? It seems like such a crucial point because it could provide details about his mood, who he interacted with, or if anyone was possibly following him from there. I know it's been a long time, but sometimes these small bits of information can trigger new leads. It's puzzling that he had so much cash on him, yet no clear evidence of robbery or struggle was found. Also, has there been any further investigation into the "Dead Man’s Lake" theory? It seems odd that such a grim lead wouldn't yield more concrete results, especially since a specific name was given. Anyone with local knowledge or who lived around the Calcasieu River area back then have anything additional to share? This case has so many layers, and every time I think about it, I keep coming back to these small details.
I’ve been following the John Michael Baham Jr. case and something about the details of his truck finds me curious. Why were the lights turned off after initially being seen on by the witness? It’s puzzling because it implies someone might have been in or near his truck, but no one remembers seeing any other person around that time. Plus, the truck's condition — keys in the ignition, dead battery, and personal items like a coat and shotgun inside — suggests a hasty exit or perhaps a staged scene. Could it be that whoever turned off the lights was trying not to draw attention to the truck? Has anyone heard more on the investigation into who could’ve been near the truck that night? Or if there were any fingerprints or footprints leading from around that area? I hope his family gets the answers they’re looking for soon.
