I was reading up on Richie Cushingberry's case again, and I can't stop thinking about the impact his loss must have on his kids. Growing up without a parent, especially under such tragic circumstances, has to be incredibly tough. I hope those little ones have a strong support system around them—family, friends, anyone who can provide some sense of stability and love in their lives right now.
It frustrates me that his case, along with so many others from 2016, remains unsolved. Kansas City saw such a devastating number of homicides that year, and I can only imagine the toll it's taken on the community. If there’s anybody out there who knows something, anything, about what happened to Richie, please reach out to the authorities. His family deserves closure, and his children deserve answers about what happened to their dad.
Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about Richie Cushingberry and what his family must be going through.
I mean, three kids are having to grow up without their father because of this. As a parent, that just hits me really hard. I can't imagine what kind of strength it takes to keep going after such a loss. And for Richie’s family, having no closure must make it all the more unbearable.
The fact that 2016 was such a violent year in Kansas City with 201 homicides makes it clear how urgent it is for the community to pull together. Each of these cases represents someone who had a life, people who loved them, and futures that were unfairly cut short. It's really important that if there's anyone who knows something, even if it seems minor, they come forward. That could be the bit of information needed to bring those responsible to justice and give Richie’s family some measure of peace.
Let's keep this conversation alive and continue to support each other in seeking justice for Richie and all the other victims. Stay safe, everyone.
