I can't help but think about the location where this terrible event took place. The Time Saver Food Mart is a place that lots of people in the southeast Oak Cliff community visit regularly. It's heartbreaking to think that something this violent could happen in a spot that's such a normal part of daily life for many. It makes me wonder how safe people feel now just doing their day-to-day errands or grabbing a quick snack. I hope the Dallas Police Department quickly gets the information they need to make an arrest and bring some sense of peace back to the community. Detective Andre Isom seems to be dedicated to solving this, and it's critical that everyone stays vigilant and reports anything they know. My heart goes out to Curdarrius Chapple’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. This case is one of many reminders of why we need to focus on preventing gun violence in our neighborhoods.
