Did anyone else notice how close Barbara's car was found to the Illinois River? I was looking at some maps of the area, and it seems like the location where her car was abandoned isn't too far from some pretty secluded spots along the river. This makes me wonder if whoever was involved might have used the water as a means to get rid of evidence. The river could have washed away a lot of clues, unfortunately. Also, considering how deserted some of these areas are, it might explain why there haven’t been any concrete leads on what happened after she went missing. Has anyone local heard about any searches done near the Illinois River? Curious if much attention was paid to this possibility back when the case was more active.
Does anyone else find it strange that Barbara's car was found in such a remote area? I've been looking at maps of Delaware County, and it's hard to imagine her just driving out there on her own, especially if she wasn't familiar with the area. I wonder if whoever was responsible had local knowledge or connections. It also makes me think about the timeline between when she was last seen and when the car was discovered. Was the car there all along, or did it get moved at some point? That could explain a lot about who might have had access to it. And what about that transmission fluid detail? Are there any mechanics on here who might shed some light on what it means beyond just trying to destroy evidence? It seems like such a deliberate move.
Does anyone have info or insights on the area where Barbara's car was found? I’ve been reading through details about her case, and the location where her Mercury Cougar was discovered seems crucial. It's stated as a “rural area of Delaware County,” but I wonder if anyone familiar with the region can shed light on its characteristics back in the late '90s. Was it a common spot for dumping cars, or did it have any particular reputation at the time? It might help understand why that location was chosen. Maybe someone out there remembers something from back then that could lead to new clues in Barbara's case. Such a tragic mystery—hoping for some breakthrough soon.
