Hey everyone, I've been following Ricky Burns' case closely and my thoughts really go out to his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. What I wanted to discuss is how the community comes together in moments like this. Living near Deep Ellum myself, I've seen how residents are taking steps to support each other — from neighborhood watch groups to local businesses raising funds for Ricky's family. It’s heartening to see people who didn’t even know Ricky rallying around his loved ones. They’ve organized vigils and spoken out about the changes they want in terms of safety in our area. While it doesn’t take away the pain of losing someone so young, it’s a reminder of what community really means. I hope all the attention on this case and the subsequent calls for action can lead to some positive changes.
