I can’t stop thinking about the impact this tragedy has on Rebekah’s friends and family. Losing a loved one under such awful circumstances is something no one should have to endure. While reading about this case, I can't help but think about how Rebekah’s life could have been different if she received the help and support she needed earlier. So many people suffer in silence, and it's crucial that as a society, we create a safe space for individuals to speak up about domestic violence without judgment or fear of retribution. If anyone reading this is aware of someone going through a similar situation, please encourage them to seek help. The cycle of abuse needs to be broken, and it starts with awareness and support for those affected. My heart goes out to everyone grieving Rebekah’s loss.
