It’s been haunting me how Nancy mentioned finding money at that house right before she disappeared. Could it have been a motive? Maybe someone thought she took it or knew about it and wanted to prevent her from spreading the word. Why was it so easy for random people to come and go from the place she was staying? It sounds sketchy—like someone was running a shady operation there. It's frustrating to think that with all the people coming in and out, nobody knows anything about what happened to her. If she felt threatened enough to call her sister, that must count for something. I hope someone remembers her or what was going on at that house... it could be the key to finding out what happened to Nancy.
Anyone else find it odd that authorities refused to take a missing persons report back in 1998? It seems strange that her transient lifestyle became a reason to dismiss her case at first. I know the process for reporting missing persons might have been different back then, but still, it feels like something got overlooked. It's unsettling to think about how many cases might have slipped through the cracks because of similar circumstances. If only her disappearance had been taken seriously from the start, maybe there would have been more leads to follow up on sooner. Thoughts?
