I'm curious about the role of media coverage in the aftermath of the Stringbean and Estelle Akeman murders. I know it was a different era, but can anyone shed light on how the press in 1973 handled such a high-profile case? It must have been a huge deal especially considering David’s fame. Were there any consequences for the family or community that stemmed from the publicity? Did it affect the way fans and fellow musicians perceived safety in the Nashville area? I feel for the family and the Ridgetop community; it must have been incredibly difficult to deal with such an intense spotlight during an already devastating time. Any insights or firsthand accounts would be appreciated.
