I've been doing some reading on the tragic murder of Officer Park Harry Wilcox, and something that's really been on my mind is the impact this must have had on the Chattanooga Police Department back in 1979. Can you imagine losing a colleague and friend like that, especially someone with over three decades of experience? It must have been such a blow to the department. I think about the officers who worked closely with him and how they had to continue their duties while dealing with that immense loss. It's crucial that we remember the emotional toll these events take on the law enforcement community, in addition to the family and friends of the victim. They not only lost a fellow officer but also a mentor and friend. Anyone have insights on how departments typically support their officers through such tragic events?
