Has anyone else been struck by how Ernie's neighborhood dynamics might play a role in this case? From what I've read, the community in that area is pretty tight-knit, and Ernie was someone familiar to them, known for his routine of collecting cans. His presence was a constant, harmless and gentle. Still, I can't help but wonder if there's something about the area, maybe a tension or underlying issue, that could have contributed to what happened to him. Could someone have felt threatened by his presence for whatever reason, or was this a case of wrong place, wrong time? It's devastating to think that someone like Ernie, who by all accounts was a kind soul, could have been involved in a senseless act of violence. Maybe those who knew him in the community have insights or have noticed anything suspicious leading up to that night. I hope there are still people in the area willing to talk and share anything they might remember, no matter how small. It's crucial for Ernie's family and friends to get answers, and for the community to heal from this.
