Has anyone else been thinking about the role mental health services played (or didn’t play) in David Jordan’s case? It’s just so devastating to hear about his struggles and how his recent medication changes seemed to have amplified his distress. I can’t stop thinking about the absence of his special education advocate during such a crucial time. It feels like a piece of his support system was missing exactly when he needed it the most. I really hope this sheds light on the significance of constant, reliable support for individuals with autism, especially during transitions like medication changes. It’s a huge reminder that more needs to be done to bridge the gap between mental health resources and policing. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and everyone who cared about him.
