I was reading through some updates about the Paul Shepherd Jr. case today, and it got me thinking about the potential role the community could play in helping solve this. I can't imagine the pain his family has been going through all these years, especially knowing there are potentially people out there with information that could bring some clarity to this senseless tragedy. Paul had only been on the job for two days. It baffles me how something like this could happen so quickly. I wonder if the young men who fled the scene were familiar with the area or even had connections in the neighborhood that might hold some clues. Anyone from Knoxville remember hearing anything around that time? Or maybe someone has friends or acquaintances who mentioned knowing more than they let on? It's frustrating to think there might be small bits of the puzzle scattered amongst people who don't realize their knowledge could make a massive difference.
