I’ve been thinking about the impact of this tragedy on Jennifer Herren's kids. It's absolutely devastating for them to have been there during such a traumatic event. I can’t even begin to imagine the fear and confusion they must have felt—and still feel. It’s a relief to know that the community stepped up and provided support, but these young ones have such a long road ahead. It's crucial that they have access to counseling and any other resources necessary to help them navigate this overwhelming loss. My heart truly goes out to them and the extended family members who have taken them in. It's moments like these that really test a community's compassion and strength. I hope the investigation provides some answers, if only to give these children some peace.
