I've been following the Karen Zahrobsky case, and something that's been on my mind is the role of the quiet neighborhood in all of this. It seems so surreal that such a tragic event could happen in a place where folks feel safe leaving their doors unlocked. I can't imagine what her family and the whole community must be going through, having their sense of security shattered like this. While the legal process against James McMillan unfolds, I hope the attention this case has received prompts conversations about addressing domestic violence before it escalates so tragically. Sending love and strength to Karen's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
