Has anyone else noticed how strange it is that Evelyn Jones wasn't reported missing until over a year after she vanished? I mean, I get that sometimes family dynamics can be complicated, but you'd think someone would have raised the alarm much sooner. It just makes me wonder what was going on during that time. Did anyone try reaching out to her? Were there any signs something was wrong before she disappeared? With her living in the Airport area of Modesto, it's not like neighbors wouldn’t have noticed if something was off, right? It's so frustrating that even with a possible sighting at Fourth Street Park in October 2002, there's been little development. The delay in reporting must've impacted the investigation significantly. Just venting here, but I can't help but think that time lost in those early days might have led to crucial missed leads.
Anyone else find it odd that the possible sighting of Evelyn at Fourth Street Park was never confirmed? I was reading through some documents and apparently, this was supposed to be in October 2002, over a year after she disappeared. It's just strange that no one was able to verify it, given the time frame. Did anyone check surveillance from nearby businesses, or maybe someone in the park saw something? Even if it's a small town, you’d think there would be more follow-up on a lead like that. It's just frustrating to think a potential clue was out there and nothing came of it. If someone was in that area around then and remembers anything, no matter how small, it could be worth mentioning to the Modesto Police.
