I recently came across the Jalen Little case, and something that really stands out to me is the sheer trauma his younger brother, Dontae, must have endured. Witnessing such a horrific event at such a young age is beyond imaginable. I can’t stop thinking about how deeply this must have affected him, not just immediately, but for the rest of his life. It's so important for communities and the justice system to remember the survivors in these cases—they have to navigate the aftermath of such devastating loss. Does anyone know if there were any resources or support provided to Dontae and his family in coping with this tragedy? It's vital for us to consider how we can support families beyond the verdicts in courtrooms. My heart goes out to the Little family; they are in my thoughts.
