I've been following Bethany Christian McKenzie's case closely, and something that often gets overlooked is the impact this tragedy must have had on the children who were present during the initial argument. I can't begin to imagine what those kids went through, witnessing part of the confrontation and then finding out later about the horrific events that unfolded. Growing up with such a traumatic memory can be life-altering. I just hope there's been support for them – both from the community and professionals – to help them process and heal. It's awful to think that they might carry these scars into adulthood. My heart really goes out to everyone affected by this senseless act, especially those innocent children who got caught up in a situation they should never have witnessed. ? Let's keep them in our thoughts and hope they're finding some peace.

I just can't stop thinking about the impact this must have had on the three children who were in the car that day. Growing up with the knowledge of what happened and how someone they presumably trusted committed such unthinkable acts must be extremely difficult. I really hope they have a strong support system around them. It's also haunting to think about the moments leading up to the tragedy—how a seemingly normal drive turned into such a devastating event.
