I was reading up on the Burnette Chapel Church shooting, and I keep coming back to the incredible courage shown by Robert Engle. It’s difficult to imagine the horror of that day, but his quick thinking and bravery likely saved numerous lives. In these tragic situations, it's often the ordinary people who show extraordinary courage. What’s striking is how Robert managed to subdue Samson after everything erupted into chaos. It’s heartbreaking to think about what was lost that day, especially Melanie's life, but Robert is a testament to the light that can shine even in the darkest moments. I hope that he knows the impact of his actions and that he has the community’s support as he deals with the aftermath of such a traumatic experience. Melanie's family remains in our thoughts. Sharing their grief and the community's loss somehow reminds us of the unity and the strength that can emerge in the aftermath. Engle’s actions, Melanie’s memory, and the resilience of the community remind us all to continue supporting one another. Anyone else moved by his courage?
