Has anyone else been following the Katie Gray case from Paducah? I've been digging into old forums and news articles, and something that keeps catching my eye is the initial media attention around her disappearance. Back in 2004, it seems like the whole community was mobilized practically overnight - flyers everywhere, social media posts before it was even a huge thing. But then it feels like the coverage just dwindled out over time. I'm curious if anyone has insight into why some cases keep getting national media focus while others don't. With all the early attention, you'd think there would have been more updates in the media or more investigative follow-ups. Could this lack of sustained media pressure be a reason why some leads went cold so quickly? Would love to hear thoughts from anyone who’s been following the case closely or has experience in how media coverage affects these kinds of investigations.
