I’ve been thinking a lot about how Ja'Darrius was just weeks away from celebrating a huge milestone—graduating high school. It just breaks me to think about all the bright futures cut short by senseless violence. I didn’t know Ja'Darrius personally, but reading the kind words from his friends and classmates really shows what an incredible young man he was. It must be devastating for his loved ones to not only deal with this tragedy but to also see such a vibrant life stopped in its tracks just as it was getting started. As a community, it’s clear we’re missing out on the impact he would have undoubtedly made. I truly hope his story pushes forward important conversations about gun violence and the safety of our youth. Thinking of his family and friends during this difficult time. ?
