Has anyone else looked into the long-term impact that Erin Adams' case has had on the community efforts in Oakland? I've been following some of the initiatives led by Youth ALIVE! and it’s inspiring to see people like Eric Adams turning their personal tragedy into something that’s driving change. It's painful to think about the loss, but knowing that Erin's story is fueling positive action provides a glimmer of hope. The fact that Eric became a violence interrupter speaks volumes about his resilience and commitment to ensuring no other family has to go through the same pain. It’s important that we support these types of community-driven programs because they seem to be filling a gap where city resources fall short. Has anyone here volunteered with Youth ALIVE! or a similar organization in the area? Would love to hear any firsthand experiences or insights. ?️
