It's been four years since Dorothy Jackson's tragic death, and the pain in the community is still palpable. The fact that her grandson was the suspected target is terrifying; it makes me think about how these senseless acts of violence ripple through families. I want to talk about the children who were in the house that night. How do they cope with witnessing something so traumatic in their own home? It breaks my heart to think of the children growing up with that fear lingering over them. I'm sending love and strength to Dorothy’s sisters and all the grandchildren as they try to heal from this unimaginable loss. I sincerely hope someone out there knows something that could help bring closure to Dorothy’s family and deliver justice for her senseless death. Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own home.
