I’ve been thinking a lot about the tragic loss of Riley Hancock, and it really hits home just how quickly life can change. I didn’t know Riley personally, but from everything I've read and heard, he sounded like an incredible young man – respectful, kind, and surrounded by people who truly cared about him. I've been particularly moved by how the community has come together to support each other and Riley's family in such a difficult time. The memorial service at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel seemed like a beautiful, albeit somber, tribute to his life. It's hard to wrap your head around how a night meant for fun and friendship could end so devastatingly. I can’t help but think about Riley's parents and loved ones. Losing someone so young and full of promise is unimaginable. With the legal proceedings underway, I hope they find some comfort in the pursuit of justice, even though nothing can truly make things right again. And perhaps, through Riley’s story, more people will recognize the crucial need for firearm safety, ensuring no other family has to endure such a terrible loss.
