I just can't stop thinking about Jalen Dodge and the impact this has had on his family, especially his mother, Laketa. It's unimaginable to have to hear those gunshots and then find out it was your own child. What really concerns me is the culture of silence that seems to be hindering progress in this case. I get that the "no snitching" mentality is deeply ingrained in some communities, but this is about a teenager who had so much ahead of him—a good student with dreams and a love for life. I wonder how we as a society can shift this mindset and encourage people to come forward, because even if it's scary, it could bring peace and justice to Jalen’s family. It's been over three years now, and they deserve answers. Does anyone know if there have been any community initiatives to address this culture, or ways to safely report information without fear of retribution?

Hey everyone, I wanted to bring up something about Jalen Dodge’s case that I've been pondering. It's really tough knowing how this has deeply affected his family, and I can't imagine the level of pain they're enduring. One thing that gets to me is the impact of the "no snitching" culture in these situations. It's this unspoken code in some communities that can be really damaging. I understand why it exists, but it frustrates me that it might be stopping someone from stepping forward with crucial information. It's like a barrier to getting the justice Jalen deserves. I feel like if we could shift that mindset and start seeing coming forward as an act of courage rather than betrayal, maybe we'd have a better chance at catching Jalen's killer. It makes me wonder what initiatives or community programs might help change this narrative? My thoughts are with Jalen's family. They deserve closure, and it’s up to us as a community to support them in any way we can. If anyone has ideas or knows of any efforts being made around this issue, please share.
