I've been following Eric Key's case, and one thing that really caught my attention is the community's response. It's so moving to see how many people have come together to honor Eric and call for justice. There were several vigils held in Cordova, and the support for Eric’s family has been immense. I'm curious about how this case might change local perceptions of self-defense laws. It seems like a lot of folks are questioning when it's appropriate to use deadly force and how we should balance protecting our property with valuing human life. I can't imagine what Eric's family and friends are going through right now. Losing someone so young and under such tragic circumstances is incredibly difficult. Does anyone know if there's been any movement toward reviewing these laws locally, or perhaps even at the state level, in light of this tragedy? It would be heartening to know something positive could come from this terrible situation.
