I've been reading more about Mamie Till-Mobley's decision to have an open-casket funeral for Emmett, and it's just so incredibly gut-wrenching but also powerful. I can't imagine the immense courage it took for her to let the world see what those men did to her son. Her courage, in the face of unimaginable grief, really played a crucial role in sparking a national conversation about racial violence and injustice. It must have been unbearably painful, but she turned her personal tragedy into a force for social change. Her bravery is often overshadowed by the sheer horror of what happened to Emmett, but she deserves so much recognition for her strength. What are your thoughts on the impact of her decision?
