It's been over two years since Keniqua Hughes and LaBrecia Dews lost their lives in that tragic shooting on Grove Street, and it still feels like a nightmare that this is unsolved. I recently read an interview with one of Keniqua's friends, who described how her laughter could light up the room. It's beyond frustrating and saddening to think that whoever is responsible for taking away such a bright presence is still out there.
Given that it happened at such a public event, it boggles my mind that there haven't been any significant leads. So many people must have been there, and I can't help but wonder if anyone saw something crucial that they might not realize could make a difference.
I applaud the Chattanooga community for standing strong and supporting the Hughes and Dews families. If anyone has the tiniest bit of info, please—speak up. Justice for Keniqua and LaBrecia is long overdue, and their families deserve peace. Sending love and strength to all who knew these remarkable women.
Has anyone else noticed how little information is coming out about the investigation into Keniqua's tragic death? It's been over two years now, and I still can't believe there haven't been any arrests. I've been following the case closely, and every time I hear updates, it feels like not much has changed. The pain her family must be feeling is unimaginable.
I keep thinking about what a bright future Keniqua had ahead of her. She was so young and vibrant, with a talent for braiding that clearly touched many in Chattanooga. It's clear she was loved by everyone who knew her. It breaks my heart to see her family and friends still waiting for justice. Does anyone in the area have any insight into whether there’s been any movement on the leads in this case? It seems like this is the kind of crime that could be solved if people just had the courage to come forward with what they know.
I hope the community continues to rally around Keniqua's family and that we can eventually see justice served. She deserves that, and those left behind deserve some semblance of peace. Let's keep her memory alive and continue to support efforts to find those responsible.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the stories her friends shared on social media. I didn’t know Keniqua personally, but seeing those posts really paints a picture of the kind of person she was—always smiling, making everyone around her feel at home. It's these personal glimpses that remind us she was much more than just a name in the news. Her friends described her as someone who could light up a room and was a truly positive influence in their lives.
It’s just so hard to comprehend how someone so full of life could be gone in the blink of an eye. I can’t help but think about the huge impact she must’ve had on her community, especially at Pure Braids where she worked her magic and had such a close-knit circle of clients. It must be incredibly tough for her immediate family to navigate through each day without her vibrant spirit.
I'm hoping someone will step up with information soon. Keniqua deserves justice, and her family and friends deserve peace. Keeping them in my thoughts—hoping for answers and healing for everyone touched by this tragedy.
