I can't stop thinking about the fact that Naterria was just a kid, asleep in the backseat, completely unaware of the chaos unfolding around her. It's devastating to think about how her life was taken so violently and senselessly, and my heart goes out to her family and friends dealing with this unimaginable loss. I was struck by how her family, especially her mother Irene, has handled this tragedy with such grace and compassion. Irene's ability to express forgiveness in the midst of all this pain is truly remarkable. It's a powerful reminder that we need more healing and understanding to break this horrific cycle of violence. Let’s not forget that Naterria had such a promising future ahead of her—she was clearly a bright and ambitious young girl. Losing someone with so much potential is a loss not just to her family, but to the entire community. I hope we see real change come from this tragedy. Something has to change to protect our youth from becoming victims of such senseless violence.
