Hey everyone, I've been reading up on the tragic case of Detective Patrick Edward Fitzgerald, and something that stands out to me is the betrayal from Kate Soffel. I can't imagine the shock and disbelief the law enforcement community must have felt when it came to light that the warden's wife was complicit in the Biddle brothers' escape. It's disheartening how someone with close ties to the justice system would aid in such an audacious escape that jeopardized safety and delayed justice for Detective Fitzgerald and his family. Has anyone else looked into Kate Soffel’s background? What could have driven her to make such a drastic decision? It’s just so puzzling and adds another complex layer to this already tragic story.
