Was doing some reading about the tragic case of Constable P. Joseph Deeghan, and I’m troubled by the lack of justice for his family. It’s baffling how Sherman wasn’t charged after such a blatant and violent act took his life. Deeghan was just doing his job and trying to keep the community safe, which makes the outcome even harder to understand. It seems there wasn't much follow-up after his murder, and the lack of further legal action feels like an injustice not only to him but also to other law enforcement officers. I truly hope his family found some form of peace over the years, but it's tough to think how they must have felt back then with no closure. Would love to hear others’ thoughts on why this case might have been dropped so quickly. Could it have been an issue of evidence, or was it political?
