I've been fascinated by the McKniff case for a while now, mainly because of how it highlights the limitations of early 20th-century forensic investigations. It's really sad to think that in 1914, they didn't have the tools or techniques we have today to properly analyze evidence and bring justice for William McKniff. I can only imagine the frustration felt by the community and McKniff’s loved ones as they waited for answers that never came. This must have been extremely stressful for everyone involved, given the high-profile nature of the case. Does anyone know if there were any new investigative methods discussed locally that could've been implemented back then? It's one of those moments where you wish there could have been a breakthrough, some clear piece of evidence to bring relief to both the family and the community.
