Has anyone looked into the role of political tensions in Kelayres before the massacre? I find it so unsettling how a parade meant to celebrate democracy ended in such tragedy. It makes me wonder what the environment in the town was like leading up to that night. Were there any significant events or altercations between the Democratic and Republican communities before this? It’s hard to fathom what could drive people to such violence, especially when politics are supposed to be about improving community life. My heart goes out to the families of the victims, especially since it must have been even tougher to navigate the political landscape after losing their loved ones under those circumstances. Any insights or resources about the political climate in Kelayres back then would be appreciated.
