I've been doing a deep dive into the Yablonski case, and something that's been on my mind is the involvement of the three hitmen—Paul Gilly, Claude Vealey, and Aubran "Buddy" Martin. It's absolutely chilling to think about how easily a price was put on human lives. From what I've read, these men were paid a significant amount of money, $20,000, which amounts to much more today when accounting for inflation. What strikes me is how they were caught up in this violent scheme and whether they even understood the full extent of the conspiracy that they were part of. Of course, it doesn't lessen the tragedy or their responsibility, but I can't help but wonder if they saw themselves as just doing a job or if they grappled with the enormity of their actions. This case makes me ponder the lengths to which people might go when manipulated by those in power and what it says about morality when money becomes involved. My heart truly goes out to Kenneth and the family left behind, as they had to unravel this horrific plot piece by piece. It's haunting to think how the discovery of the bodies on January 6th changed everything for them.
