I’ve been following Reginald Antwine Haynes’ case for a while now, and something that really sticks out to me is the lack of cooperation from potential witnesses. I get it, fear and distrust can make people hesitant, especially if they live in areas where crime feels rampant, but it’s incredibly sad for the families left without answers. Reginald was taken from his loved ones in such a senseless way near Mortimer's Bar, and it’s tough to see this case become yet another statistic.
I wonder if there’s more that can be done to build trust between the community and law enforcement. Could increased community programs or advocacy groups help increase communication? I think about his family often and hope that maybe one day someone who knows something will find the courage to come forward. It’s not just about solving a crime; it’s about giving a family, and a community, some peace and closure. Anyone got thoughts on how we can encourage people to share what they know?
