I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact on Jody Billingsley’s family and friends since the LA Fitness tragedy. It must be unimaginably difficult to lose a loved one in such horrific circumstances and to see their life reduced to a headline. I can’t begin to grasp how you navigate the days and weeks after, trying to make sense of something so senseless. Has anyone heard about any memorials or tributes that were established in her honor? I hope the community and those close to her found ways to celebrate her life even amidst all this darkness. Supporting each other during such times seems crucial in finding a way forward. Thinking of everyone touched by this overwhelming loss.
Has anyone else read the online diaries of George Sodini? As difficult as it is to stomach his words, I'm trying to wrap my head around what led to such an unthinkable act. It's infuriating to see how his warped mindset and hatred were left unchecked. I've been thinking a lot about all the lives forever changed that day, especially Jody Billingsley's. It's hard to imagine the pain her family and friends are enduring. It's alarming how someone could harbor such resentment and where our society missed opportunities to maybe intervene. Mental health support and awareness need more attention than ever to better handle rage before it turns into unspeakable violence. Sending thoughts to everyone touched by this terrible event.
