Hey everyone, I was just thinking about Leonard Young's case again recently, and one thing that's been on my mind is the location of the tragedy. The fact that Leonard's life was ended so close to a place of worship, the Mt. Ararat Church, is really unsettling. It’s supposed to be a sanctuary, a spot for peace and reflection, and yet something so violent happened right there in the parking lot. The timing is also deeply troubling, considering a peace march was scheduled just hours after. It really makes you wonder about the disrespect for human life and peace. How does someone carry out such an act knowing there’s a movement right around the corner meant to stand against this very type of violence? It just goes to show how much work still needs to be done in all our communities. I can’t imagine what Leonard’s family and friends must continue to go through every time they pass by that area. It’s hard to make sense of it all. Remembering Leonard and hoping for more peaceful days ahead for all of Pittsburgh.
