Has anyone else been following the peculiar nature of this case in regard to the GPS ankle monitors? It’s mind-boggling to think that Franc Cano and Steven Dean Gordon were able to commit these heinous acts while being tracked. How did the monitoring system not catch any suspicious movements or patterns? This loophole is really concerning, especially considering the risk it poses to the community. Also, how frustrating must it be for Josephine’s family to know there were monitoring devices involved, and yet, it brought no prompt resolution or prevention. It's unsettling to think about how trust in such systems can fail. Does anyone here have insights on how these systems work?
Has anyone else been perplexed by the timeline of Josephine Vargas's disappearance? It's baffling how it took so long to report her missing - October 27, four days after she was last seen. I completely understand the initial confusion with her family thinking she was with her husband and vice versa, but it makes me wonder if that delay allowed critical evidence or leads to slip away. A lot can happen in those crucial first hours and days. Given the serious criminal background of the suspects eventually arrested, it makes me think: could there have been an earlier opportunity to pinpoint their movements or potentially prevent more tragedies? I’d love to hear others' thoughts on this aspect of the case. It’s all so chilling and tragic for the families involved.
I was revisiting Josephine Vargas's case and got to thinking about the role technology played in eventually capturing these guys. How chilling is it that both Franc Cano and Steven Dean Gordon were wearing GPS ankle monitors the whole time? It makes me wonder what more could have been done earlier to flag their movements; like, could patterns have been picked up sooner if the data was analyzed more proactively? It’s disturbing they were still able to commit such heinous crimes while under supposed surveillance. Anyone know if there have been changes in how GPS monitoring is used since then? Always feels like there's room for improvement in monitoring systems to prevent such tragedies.
