Hey everyone, I’ve been following Willard Arent Bennett’s case, and something that’s been on my mind is why his van hasn’t been found. These types of vehicles can be big and distinctive, especially one from 1994. Considering the attention this case has received, it seems like someone somewhere would have noticed or reported it by now.
Could it be hidden somewhere really remote? Or maybe there are other explanations—could it have been painted or altered, making it harder to spot? I know people with Alzheimer’s can sometimes get disoriented and end up in unexpected places, but wouldn’t the van eventually catch someone’s eye?
If anyone has thoughts or theories about how a large vehicle like this could disappear without a trace, I’d love to hear them. It just feels like a big piece of the puzzle that’s out there waiting to be found.
Has anyone else looked into the potential routes Willard Arent Bennett might have taken from San Diego County heading further south or out east? Given his condition and the fact he was driving that van, I wonder if he might have taken a less-traveled road where he could have run into trouble. Those of us familiar with road trips know that sometimes GPS can lead you astray or towards unpaved areas. The fact that neither he nor the van has been spotted after the gas station is baffling. There are numerous secluded areas around eastern San Diego County heading toward the desert. Maybe he got turned around or took a side road thinking it was a shortcut? I hope people along those routes can keep an eye out for any signs, maybe even old, hidden vehicles.
