This situation with Carmine and Caryn Verno has really been weighing on my mind. I recently learned about Carmine's involvement in the local community through Carvern Productions, especially the role he played in the beauty pageants of the 1980s. It's such a stark contrast to hear about the loving, community-focused person he was and then the tragic end that befell both him and his wife. It’s hard to reconcile these two realities. Having lived in the community for a while, I've heard stories of how those pageants brought a lot of joy and unity, becoming an integral part of local events. It's distressing to think about how the man behind so much positivity was going through such turmoil. I'm trying to understand how someone so engaged with and loved by the community reached such a breaking point. My heart goes out to their families and everyone affected. It just brings home how important it is to check in on people, even when it seems like they have everything together. Such a deep sadness for all involved.
