I've been thinking a lot about the tragic loss of Claywaun Bender, and it just breaks my heart for his family and friends. It's hard to imagine the pain of losing someone so young. What really sticks out to me is the courage of that upstairs neighbor who called the police. I mean, in situations like this, it's not easy to know what to do or how dangerous it might be to get involved. Their quick action might not have saved Claywaun, but it certainly led to the arrest of the suspect swiftly, and that's something. It's moments like these when community action, no matter how big or small, can make a significant difference. It just makes me think about how our communities can rally together to support each other and hopefully create an environment where kids like Claywaun can grow up safely. My thoughts are with everyone affected by this senseless act of violence.
