I can't stop thinking about the role the PFA order played in this tragedy. It's so troubling to see how the system failed to protect Suzanne and Eric. From what I've read, the order wasn’t enough to keep Robert away, and it just breaks my heart to see stories where such measures fall short. Robert was fined for violating the PFA, which clearly didn’t deter him. It makes me wonder if more stringent consequences or immediate intervention could have made a difference. I can’t imagine the fear Suzanne must've lived with, thinking she was protected, only for that illusion of safety to shatter. If there are any lessons to be drawn here, it’s that legislation around domestic violence needs to include provisions that ensure protective measures are actionable and enforceable. I'm curious if anyone else has insights on PFA orders in PA or knows if anything has changed legislatively since then. It feels important to share knowledge and look at ways we can push for more robust protections. My heart truly goes out to Bethiney and any other family members—they’ve endured unimaginable pain and loss.
