It’s truly disheartening to hear about cases like Levert Thomas's that seem to get caught up in the wave of unsolved homicides in Detroit. What really stands out to me is the lack of reliable witness testimony that might have made a difference in solving this case. I wonder how much the culture of fear or distrust in law enforcement at the time contributed to this lack of cooperation from the community. With so many cases going cold due to these barriers, it's crucial that we support efforts to rebuild trust between communities and police. It’s not just about numbers and statistics—behind each unsolved case is a family left without answers, seeking justice and closure. Hopefully, the advancements in investigative technologies will eventually shed some light on Levert’s case and others like it. Keeping these stories alive is important, and sharing even the smallest details can one day lead to breakthroughs. My thoughts are with Levert’s loved ones in their continued search for answers.
