I was reading about Dennis Pitch's case again and something struck me about the role of Kristopher Smith. Knowing Dennis personally, he must have been aware of the pain and devastation this would cause to the family and community. It puzzles me how someone could betray a person they knew so deeply. It’s such a breach of trust that he didn’t just commit a heinous crime but also shattered the perception of safety and trust in a neighborhood that clearly held Dennis in high regard. Dennis seemed like such a wonderful man from what I've read—always described by neighbors as having a big heart and being incredibly supportive. It must be unbelievably tough for his family not just to grieve but to process how someone close could be involved in such a traumatic incident. They're all in my thoughts. Holding onto those fond memories of Dennis might be a small solace for them amid such a heartbreaking ordeal.
