Has anyone else been looking into the timeline of events leading up to India Stewart's death? I've been sifting through all the details we have and something about the night of January 14, 2017, keeps sticking with me. The surveillance footage showing Kalvin Stewart’s Jeep near the crime scene is haunting—almost as if he believed he wouldn’t be caught or the cameras would miss him. It boggles my mind why someone would take such a risk, knowing there was likely evidence at every corner. Plus, how tragic it is that India, who already felt threatened enough to confide in someone about Kalvin, didn't get the protection she needed in time. Wishing peace and courage to India’s family as they continue to heal from this tragedy.
I recently came across a detail in India Stewart's case that has me thinking about the ripple effects of domestic violence, especially when it goes unchecked. It's haunting to learn that there was a history of violence before the tragic outcome of her death. There had been an assault charge against Kalvin Stewart just a few months before India was murdered, but it was dropped. I can't help but wonder if there could have been more intervention at that stage. It makes me feel so deeply for India and her family, knowing the warning signs were there but the system didn't do enough to protect her. These stories are harsh reminders that we need stronger support systems in place for victims and more awareness around protective measures like restraining orders. My thoughts are with her loved ones, who have had to endure not only the immense loss but also the frustration of knowing that there might have been chances to prevent it.
