I have been following Lisa Menzo-Santoro’s case, and I can’t stop thinking about how the system failed her. It’s baffling to me that despite both she and her ex-boyfriend seeking legal protection, nothing was effectively done to safeguard her from this tragic outcome. It makes me wonder about the process behind these protection-from-abuse orders. Are they not meant to offer security or at least some level of intervention from authorities when things begin to escalate? My heart goes out to her children, especially her daughter who had to discover such a horrific scene. I hope that by discussing Lisa’s case, more awareness can be brought to how domestic violence situations are handled—or sadly mishandled—by the police. Can anyone shed light on what changes, if any, have been made in Pennsylvania regarding domestic violence since Lisa’s death? Any insights would be appreciated.
Reading about Lisa's case has really hit me hard, especially considering the repeated calls for help.
