I came across the Dorian Williams case while reading about unsolved homicides in Detroit, and it got me thinking—what about the role that witnesses play? I understand that lack of cooperation can stall investigations, but I wonder if fear of retaliation is what keeps people from coming forward in many of these cases, especially given Detroit's history with violent crime. It must be incredibly hard for anyone who might know what happened to Dorian to come forward, but their courage could be the key to giving his family some peace. The Cold Case Unit seems to be doing all they can, even with limited resources, but community support could make a huge difference. Does anyone know if there are any initiatives to protect witnesses that could encourage more people to speak out? I feel for Dorian's family and friends—they deserve justice just as much as Dorian deserves to be remembered as more than an unsolved case number.
