I can't stop thinking about the impact this tragedy must have had on the community and especially on Dorothy and Tanesha’s friends and family. I read in an article that Dorothy was well-loved in her neighborhood and known for her kindness and generosity. She often volunteered at local shelters and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. It’s hard to wrap my head around the thought that someone capable of such selflessness could be taken in such a horrific way. The fact that domestic disputes sometimes escalate to this level is so concerning. Knowing that they were known to argue makes me wonder if anybody around them sensed something was off or if this came as a complete shock. It’s so heartbreaking to think about how this could have possibly been prevented. The call for a death-review panel sounds like a step in the right direction. Let’s hope some good can come out of this senseless act and prevent another family from experiencing such a tragic loss.
