I've been following the McCaslin case and it breaks my heart to think about the pain his family must still be feeling, over a decade later. One thing that stood out to me is the location where he was found—the intersection of Greenview and Curtis Streets. This area has seen its share of violence, and I can't help but wonder if there are people who've witnessed something but are too scared to come forward. It's such a tough situation.
The year 2010 was a particularly violent one for Detroit, and it feels like James's death just became one more statistic in the city’s struggles. How do we encourage people to speak up, especially in communities where trust in law enforcement is low? I hope that new advances in technology and programs encouraging witness cooperation can keep pushing these old cases toward resolution. It's so important to remember their stories and keep the pressure on for justice, not just for James, but for all of Detroit's unsolved cases. Thoughts and prayers to all who knew and loved James.
