I've been thinking a lot about how tightly-knit communities can be impacted by such unfathomable tragedies like what happened to Nichole Pumphrey, her daughter, and her boyfriend. It’s incredibly difficult to imagine what their family and friends had to go through — especially in a town like New Castle, where everyone seems to know everyone. Nichole's motherly love and bond with her children was clear from how she cherished her time cooking and creating a warm home environment for them. Having also attended beauty school, her talent and passion for making others feel beautiful shone brightly, and I'm sure she is missed by all who knew her. I can't help but wonder about the ripple effect this crime had on her community and how people come together to support each other in the aftermath of such cruelty. If anyone has insights into how Nichole’s friends or fellow church members are coping, or perhaps community initiatives that have been set up in their memory, I'd love to hear about it. It's essential we don't forget the warmth and happiness Nichole and Amariah brought into the lives of others.
