I've been reading about the tragic case involving Maurice Taylor and the others who lost their lives on Malcolm Street. My heart goes out to their families and everyone impacted by this horrible event. What really strikes me is the renovation work that Taylor and his half-brother were doing before the incident. Can you imagine just trying to fix up a house, maybe for a fresh start or to create some positive life change, and then stumbling across something as dangerous as hidden drugs? I can’t begin to fathom the feeling of realizing they were caught up in something much bigger than a simple renovation. It’s so devastating that their positive effort to rebuild was met with such a ruthless end. I really hope justice is served for them, and that this can somehow lead to greater awareness in communities about the dangers lurking in unexpected places.
